Hydroxypropyl Methyl Cellulose(HPMC) is made of fine cotton, which is an odorless, tasteless, non-toxic cellulose ether. 
HPMC is white powder with good water solubility. It has thickening, adhesion ,dispersing,emulsifying, film, suspended,adsorption,gel. In the course of construction,HPMC is used for wall putty, tile adhesive, cement mortar, dry mix mortar, wall plaster, skim coat, mortar, concrete admixtures, cement, gypsum plaster, joints fillers, crack filler, etc.

Product production process

HPMC is produced from refined cotton through an alkaline etherification process. Firstly, the refined cotton is crushed and then mixed with sodium hydroxide solution for low-temperature soaking and stirring to form alkaline cellulose for activation. Then, two etherifying agents, chloromethane and propylene oxide, were added to the activated alkali cellulose. Under certain temperature and pressure, the reaction was stirred to generate crude HPMC. Finally, the crude product is neutralized with hydrochloric acid, washed with hot water or organic solvents to remove impurities, and then dried, crushed, screened and packaged as the finished product.
